"Snap" is a term that means shapes are aligned, moved, or re-sized in uniform intervals or positions. In Excel, there are two types of snapping available: Snap to Grid and Snap to Shape. FlowBreeze activates both types of snap automatically when a flowcharting session is started. But if you ever close a workbook and re-open it, you will be to work them back on manually if you want to edit the flow diagram.
Snap to Grid
Snap to grid will snap the symbols to the nearest worksheet cell grid line and is used when positioning or sizing symbols. It is activated by clicking Drawing Tools > Snap to Grid from the FlowBreeze toolbar in Excel 2000 - 2003, and via the Layout > Align menus on the FlowBreeze tab of the Excel 2007 ribbon.
Snap to Shape
Snap to grid will snap the symbols to the nearest shape. It is activated by clicking Drawing Tools > Snap to Shape from the FlowBreeze toolbar in Excel 2000 - 2003, and via the Layout > Align menus on the FlowBreeze tab of the Excel 2007 ribbon. A good application for this is to route flow lines up to other flow lines, as show below.
