Template Generator
The Template Generator allows you to quickly design cross functional (swim lane) templates.
Template Properties Tab

| • | Template Name: This will be the file name that the template will be stored as. |
| • | Template Folder: This is the folder that the templates will be stored in. The default location is "My Documents\My Flowcharts\Templates". FlowBreeze does not use the built-in template folder in Excel because that folder is hidden in Windows Explorer. |
| • | Paper Size: The template generator supports 8-1/2x11, 11x17, A3 and A4. If you select a paper size not supported by your printer, you will get the following error message when you try to generate the template. |

| • | Orientation: Portrait or Landscape. |
| • | Number of pages: If the content of the flowchart is likely to spread across more than one printed page, it is helpful to repeat the template title block and swim lanes on each page. |
| • | Line Style: Clicking this will open a dialog that allows you to select a pre-formatted line thickness and color. |
| • | Create title block and swim lanes using... |
- Cell formatting and borders: This option makes the template easier to edit.
- Shapes and lines: This option is better if you want to copy and paste the flowchart into Word 2003 or earlier.
| • | Title Block Font: Select the font you want to use for the title block heading and swim lane titles. |
Body Tab

| • | Body: You can make a plain grid with a title block header and footer, or you can create a cross-functional flowchart with vertical or horizontal swim lanes. |
| • | Swim Lanes: Click the '+' and '-' buttons to add or remove lanes. You can edit the lane titles by clicking on the appropriate text box and changing the text. |
Note: If you add 6-10 swim lanes, the lanes will wrap on the screen, but they will appear as a single row in the template.
Header / Footer Tab

| • | Add title block header / footer: Check either of these if you want a title block to appear. The screen shot above shows an example of the types of fields you may want. |
| • | Number of rows: Add up to 3 rows for the title block header or footer. |
| • | # Sections: Click the '+' and '-' buttons to add or remove sections. |
| • | Section Labels: You can edit the labels by clicking on the appropriate text box and changing the text. (After you create the template, the section labels can still be edited just as you can edit any other Excel template.) |
