The initial release of LinkBreeze will focus on features supporting hyperlink maintenance for Microsoft Word and Excel documents as well as large scale file migration projects. The initial release will not support automated scheduling or maintenance of text-based cross references, as some of the text below states.
Description
LinkBreeze will be a Hyperlink Management tool for Microsoft Office - specifically for Word and Excel. It lets you easily fix link problems, search for and replace broken hyperlinks, update hyperlinks to moved documents, and release new documents with incoming and outgoing links without having to repair the paths.

Message from the Founder
Like all of the programs I develop, this is a tool that was written to address a real need. In any environment, if you want to make improvements, that means making changes. But if you work in an environment that requires controlled documentation (e.g., ISO), those changes need to wait as the documentation updates make their way through the system. This can be a real problem when you're releasing new documentation that makes old documentation obsolete.
The last thing you want to do is wait to make the changes because a number of other documents reference the old documentation. First you have to find all those references, then you need to update them all. And, you need to time the release of those updates to match the release of the new documentation.
It's a time consuming and error prone process. If you miss one reference, you can get dinged on your next audit. I have, and that's what spurred me to write this program. BreezeTree LinkBreeze Hyperlink Management System searches the documentation directories for you, and will automatically update cross-references in both text format and hyperlink format. What's more, it creates a directory listing of all the cross-references in your documentation system. Each time you use it, it actually gets faster, because it only needs to scan the documents that have been changed or added since the last scan.
LinkBreeze will save time, reduce documentation errors, and free up the bottleneck in your Document Control and/or IT departments.
