The Advanced Settings window allows you to fine tune specialized flowcharting settings for sizing, text, branch label text, and overall flow direction.
Symbol Size
Autosize symbol height if text exceeds default height: You can set the height for each symbol in the main Settings window. If this field is checked, it will treat the height setting as a minimum height. If it is unchecked, then it will treat the height setting as a fixed height.
Use Smart Sizing for On and Off-Page Connectors: If this is checked, FlowBreeze will make these symbols small for short text entries and enlarge them proportionally for longer text entries.
Symbol Text
Automatically capitalize the first letter of the symbol text: Lets you enter text without the hassle of capitalizing the first character yourself.
Text alignment: Sets the text alignment both horizontally and vertically within a symbol.
Prefix delimiter: By default, a colon (":") is used as the prefix delimiter. This drop down allows you to change it to another character.
Branch Label Text Formatting
Generate a Decision shape if the text contains a question mark (?): If checked, any entry that contains a question mark will generate a Decision symbol (diamond).
Use the same font for Decision branch labels as flowchart symbols: If checked, FlowBreeze will use the same font family and size for branch labels as it does for symbols.
Branch label font: Displays the current branch label font.
Change font: Opens a font dialog, allowing you to set a different font for the branch labels.
Change color: Opens a color dialog, allowing you to set a different font color for the branch labels.
Flow Direction
Top to bottom: This option assumes the flow diagram direction will be from the top of the page to the bottom. After a symbol is generated, FlowBreeze will automatically select a cell two rows below the bottom of the last symbol generated. This diagram layout is common for flowcharts used in documentation.
Left to right: This option assumes flow direction will be from the left side of the page to the right side. After a symbol is generated, FlowBreeze will automatically select a cell two columns to the right of the last symbol generated. This drawing orientation is more common for process analysis.
Let FlowBreeze automatically detect direction: FlowBreeze will attempt to guess which direction you are working in. It will only change direction after two consecutive moves in the same direction.
