Extract Duplicate Data

Excel has a built-in tool to delete duplicate rows, but there are times when you want to identify duplicates instead of deleting them. The Extract Duplicates will sort the table and then compare up to three columns to identify duplicate rows. The duplicate rows are then copied to a new workbook (but not deleted from the original table).

Form Fields

  • Select Source Table: Select the workbook, worksheet, and range where the data is located. The table does not have to be an Excel table - any range will work.
  • Select Columns to Compare: Select up to 3 columns to sort by and identify duplicates.
  • Output To: You can output to a new worksheet or to a new workbook.
  • Worksheet name: Optional field to name the output worksheet.
